The e-Pesticide Manual version 5.2
Network User Version
Version 5.2 of The e-Pesticide Manual requires the .NET Framework (2 or above) to be installed onto the client computers.
 
 
Installation on server.
  1. Enter your details (at the end of this page) and the click download.
  2. Run the program installing the manual on your server.
  3. Set the folder on the server as shared.
The files installed to the server are.

EPMVSetupWS.msi (The installation routine to be run on each client.)
In the folder Database.
EPMV.mdb (Main database)
EPMVUser.mdb (Common settings)
 
 
Installation on the first client.
  1. Establish share on client to the folder on the server.
  2. Run the installation EPMVSetupWS.msi with the destination as the client.
  3. Once installed run the e-Pesticide manual on the client.
  4. The manual will attempt to automatically find the location of the database on the server. If it is unable it will ask you to locate the database. (Note this location is stored on the client).
  5. When first run the manual will ask for your user number.
  6. The manual will then request you to activate the manual online or provide you with a temporary activation (follow the instructions).

ePMV.exe (The application)
ePM2Help.chm (Help file)
BCPCLogo16.ico, bcpe.ico (Icons)
In the folder Database
EPMVUserWS.mdb (Settings and comments)
 
Installation on other clients.
Once the manual has been activated follow steps 1 to 4 from the above list.
 
 
The application is placed onto the client systems. The application may be placed on the server but this may cause a few problems with permissions. Running an XP client will require the security on the server to be changed. Running a Vista client will require that acknowledgment be made on each opening.
Backups. The only files that are changed by the users are EPMVUser.mdb (server) and EPMVUserWS.mdb (client) as they hold settings and notes made by the users.
