The e-Pesticide Manual version 5.
Network User Version
Version 5 of The e-Pesticide Manual requires the .NET Framework (2 or above) to be installed onto the client computers.
Installation on server.
The network installation routine places the client msi routine together with two databases onto the server.
EPMVSetupWS.msi The msi routine to be run on each client.
  In the folder Database:
  EPMV.mdb Main database
  EPMVUser.mdb Common settings.
To install The e-Pesticide Manual onto the server complete the form at the end of this page.
Installation on the client.
Create a mapped drive (reconnect at login) between the client and server.
From the client run the installation routine (EPMVSetupWS.msi).
This routine will install, on to the client, the files:
  ePMV.exe The application
  ePM2Help.chm Help file
  BCPCLogo16.ico, bcpe.ico Icons
  In the folder Database
  EPMVUserWS.mdb Settings and comments.
The first time The e-Pesticide Manual is run from any client the system will request the User Number. The system will generate a temporary activation which will permit the manual to be run for 21 days.
Version 5 now has the ability to activate online. When asked click ‘Online Activation’. The application will then request activation over the internet.
Alternately you can send the temporary code to BCPC who will issue you with a full activation code. This should be entered in the box on any client and then click the ‘Activate’ button.
On each client the first run will request that the user locate the main database (EMPV.MDB on the server). This location is then stored within the local database. This will only be required on the first run as the application will use the stored location.
Notes.
The application is placed onto the client systems. The application may be placed on the server but this may cause a few problems with permissions. Running an XP client will require the security on the server to be changed. Running a Vista client will require that acknowledgment be made on each opening.
Backups. The only files that are changed by the users are EPMVUser.mdb (server) and EPMVUserWS.mdb (client) as they hold settings and notes made by the users.
With your order confirmation you will find a User number.
